A rare mid-19th Century lacquered and oxidised-brass compound monocular microscope,
signed on the body tube G & S Merz in München N. 1013, with sliding draw-tube focusing and fine-screw adjustment to the triangular cross-section pillar, with sub-stage wheel condenser, plano-concave mirror with vertical adjustment on horseshoe stand, with three eyepieces numbered 1, 1½ and 2, and two objectives marked 1/12in., 1/3in., with other items in fruitwood case -- 10in. (25.4cm.) high (replacement sliding cover)
