A late 18th-century lucernal microscope signed on the stage W & S JONES 30 Holborn, London, the pyramid-shaped project on box supported by two pillars from the base, the stage also supported on a pillar with slide and screw-rod focusing attachment held in place by passing through the two projection box supports, the mahogany projection box with brass body-tube for screw objectives, the object slide adjustable by rack and pinion horizontally and vertically via two rods with universal joints, two condensing lenses mounted on an extension bar, 30in. (76.2cm.) long
