by William Ladd, with fusee chain drive body-tube focusing operated by a wheel and arm, the body-tube with presentation inscription engraved Presented to John William Clerke, Esqre, on his leaving Skibbereen as a small memorial of the regard and esteem in which he is held by the inhabitants of this town and neighbourhood. Skibbereen August 1861, the mechanical stage also adjusted by fusee chain, sub-stage condenser mounting, four eyepieces and other items, in fitted mahogany case with brass carrying handle -- 15¾in.
