Lot Essay

According to Valerie Ann Leeds, the present work "shows Lewandowski's maturing graphic skills in the careful and delicate rendering of the buildings, sailboats, and landscape. It was in the boats and buildings of Algoma [Wisconsin] that Lewandowski began to envision the geometric potential of man-made structures, an idea he continued to pursue." (Edmund Lewandowski: Precisionism and Beyond, exhibition catalogue, Flint, Michigan, 2010, p. 13)
