The poster was designed as an advertisment for The Garden of the Night, a special edition of twenty six Sufi poems translated by Iftikhar Azmi, illustrated by Kennedy and published by the Wittington Press

The Christmas card was sent personally by Kennedy to the vendor in 1980.
