Created in collaboration with fashion designer Mathew Williams, founder of the streetwear brand 1017 ALYX 9SM, the present Royal Oak is a very special and rare timepiece and was limited to only 76 examples. As stated from the designer and Audemars Piguet, the goal was to captivate craftsmanship and emotion.
This striking Royal Oak Offshore reference 26238BC forgoes the utilization of the iconic 'Grande Tapisserie' dial and instead uses a vertically satin-finished 18k gold dial with no date or hour markers to seamlessly meld with the case and bracelet, making the watch appear as one clean and flowing unit. The exuberant dial reflects an array of colors depending on the light, and it has an applied Audemars Piguet logo along with '1017 ALYX 9SM' printed at the bottom. Completing this timepiece is the customized winding rotor with the multiple levels of finishing as well as collaborative co-branding.
