Lot Essay

The bronze was inspired by Dr Merwin Tuttle of Bat Conservation International who lectured at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History where the aritist works as a preparator. "He brought along a live fruit bat, it was a beutiful creature curious, agile and surprisingly graceful. The gothic arch seemed a logical shape to embrace this singularly misunderstood animal."
