Originally crafting medals, orders, and jewels for German nobility and the Bavarian Royal Family, their craftsmanship achieved international acclaim in 1900 when the house was honored with a prize at the Exposition Universelle for a Bishop’s Cross set with gemstones and enamel. The cross is now a highlight of the permanent collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
