Made in 2003 to commemorate the 125th anniversary of the Hamburg-based retailer Wempe and their excellent relationship with Patek Philippe, reference 5125 was made in extremely limited numbers: 125 pieces for each gold colour, and 100 pieces for the platinum version. It was available with either English calendar or, German calendar.
The watch’s design - featuring digital displays for the month, day of the week, and date - recalls Patek Philippe classics such as references 3448 and 3450, although this model is an annual calendar rather than a perpetual calendar. The case features a smooth bezel and is modestly sized at 36.5 mm. The lower register is signed 'Wempe.
