Lot Essay

Josephson was fascinated by capturing interiors and revealing the lives of people he met on his journeys. Unlike his Norwegian paintings in this sale, this work was executed during his travels in Sweden. Usra is located in the northern part of lake Siljan, about 9 miles north of Mora, Dalarna County.
