EDO PERIOD (18TH - 19TH CENTURY), THE CABINET SIGNED KANSHOSAI SAKU, INRO SIGNED BY VARIOUS ARTISTS INCLUDING ZESHIN (SHIBATA ZESHIN; 1807-1891)
The rectangular cabinet with drop front enclosing two compartments designed, elaborately lacquered with roundels of snowflakes designed with various scenes from the Tale of Genji, fitted with gilt fittings and handle, comprising ten inro of:

1. Boat and Reeds, signed Shunsho, sealed Kagemasa
2. Autumn Grasses and Butterflies, signed Koami Choko saku
3. Two Courtiers and Autumn Flowers, signed Kanshosai saku
4. Shoki and oni, signed Zeshin (Shibata Zeshin; 1807-1891)
5. Orchids, signed Yoyusai (Hara Yoyusai; 1772-1845)
6. Bundles of Rice, signed Jokasai (Yamada Jokasai)
7. Dragon Amidst Clouds, signed Koami Choshu (Nagachika)
8. Herons by a Stream, signed Koma Kyuhaku saku
9. Hibiscus and Crickets, signed Kajikawa Bunryusai saku
