The vendor's father was Director of Publicity for the Labour party for many years and in this capacity, partnered by his wife, he accompanied Harold Wilson to the Variety Club of Great Britain's luncheon at The Dorchester Hotel in central London in 1964. Harold Wilson presented The Beatles with their award for Show Business Personalities Of 1963 on that occasion, and the vendor's mother obtained the Beatles' signatures for her daughter there.
