John and Yoko moved into Tittenhurst Park on August 11th, 1969 and lived there for three years, until settling in New York in September 1971. The house was sold to Ringo Starr in 1973 who resided there until 1988 when the house was sold to the ruler of Abu Dhabi. Extensive refurbishments to the house and grounds were undertaken between 1989-1992 when almost all the Lennon and Starr fittings were scrapped. John and Yoko too had made extensive alterations to the house, opening up the space and decorating it in white, a number of the rooms and the grounds can be seen on The Imagine video. John and Yoko also installed an eight track recording studio called Ascot Sound where John recorded his album Imagine.
