Further inscribed and signed by Zhu Youlan (1909-1990) on the mounting of each scroll, each with a seal

NOTE:
The mounting is inscribed by Zhu Youlan, a native of Huangyan, Zhejiang, who was a renowned Buddhist scholar. He was the co-author of Compassionate Life Painting Collection together with Feng Zikai, and was one of the key contributors to and preservers of the work. He had a close relationship with Feng Zikai and served as Vice President of the Shanghai Buddhist Association.
The recipient refers to Zhou Shouren, son of Zhou Gongfu (1909–1966), the first Chairman of Wah Fung Department Store in Hong Kong. A calligraphic work by Ma Gongyu dedicated to Gongfu from the same collection will be presented in an upcoming online auction.
