Dated spring, thirty-fifth year (of the Republic, 1946)
Dedicated to Yulin and Madame Jinxun
NOTE:
The work is dedicated to Guo Yulin, who was born in Hong Kong around 1905. During the Second Sino-Japanese War, Guo taught English and worked as a translator at the Sichuan Aviation Academy. He was a close friend of Guan Shanyue, and maintained a close relationship with him after he returned to Hong Kong in the 1980s.
The current owner’s father and Guo were sworn brothers. The work was gifted by Guo to the present owner around 1990.
