A Vienna style circular box and hinged cover
the cover painted with a classical scene of lovers attended by Cupid, the interior with another scene, probably Venus and Cupid, the base with purple, lilac and pale blue painted gilt with birds and leaves, the base gilt with a leaf boss, with hinged gilt metal rims -- 8.5cm. diam., late 19th/20th century (the interior with slight wear to gilt)
