signed 'Helen Bradley' and with a fly (lower left), signed again, inscribed and dated '''Going Home, Going Home'', sang George and/I as we started to walk back towards/Grandpa's house. On quiet summer Evenings/Grandpa would sometimes say that Zober/would do with a walk, so we usually/clip-clopped down the back lanes behind Blackpool/ The Aunts brought baskets in/case we found mushrooms, which we/usually did in the field near the cornfield./Then Mother asked Mrs Jackson who/made teas in her nice little cottage if she would/make cocoa for everybody. Not only did we have/our cocoa but she put on the table a huge seed/cake and a big plate of Blackpool Biscuits/then Grandpa gave all the ladies and George and/I a ride home whilst he and Mr Taylor walked/back and the year was 1906./Helen Layfield Bradley 1974' (on the artist's label attached to the backboard)
