Lot Essay

The reference 2552 was produced between 1954 to 1960, with the majority crafted in gold. It was fitted with Patek Philippe's first automatic calibre 12-600, a truly state of the art movement.

Approximately only 30 examples of the reference were crafted in platinum. The icy beauty of the present watch's platinum case combined with the silvered dial, it is a trophy for the discerning collector.

Reference 2552 and calibre 12-600 AT are illustrated in Patek Philippe Wristwatches by Martin Huber & Alan Banbery, second edition, pp. 215 & 216.
