Lot Essay

Reference 3428, introduced in 1960, is the successor of Patek Philippe's first model featuring a self-winding movement. Whereas reference 2526 is fitted with the celebrated caliber 12'''600, reference 3428 is equipped with the second generation self-winding movement, caliber 27-460. It is believed that only approximately 530 pieces were made, majority in yellow gold around 400 pieces made, and only 100 pink gold example made, and very few for white gold and platinum.

The attractive combination of a pink gold case, the traditional enamel dial, pink gold bracelet made by Gay Frères and the very good overall condition render the present watch a very desirable collectors' item.
