Lot Essay

The "Triple Complication Automatique," launched by Audemars Piguet in 1992, epitomizes the pinnacle of horological craftsmanship, seamlessly integrating three complex functions—minute repeater, perpetual calendar, and chronograph—into a single timepiece. The owner “The Eternity Collection” of this remarkable piece engraved No. 1, an automatic Ref. 25732BC, acquired it in the 1990s, enjoying a status that transcended that of the ordinary collector. This watch not only represents the zenith of mechanical watchmaking but also showcases the captivating rhythm and operation of its movement through a meticulously crafted skeleton dial.

The minute repeater serves as a paragon of acoustic artistry, producing clear and resonant chimes to announce the hours, quarters, and minutes, composing a melodious tribute to the passage of time. The perpetual calendar mechanism is a marvel of micro-engineering, capable of automatically recognizing the varying lengths of months and leap year cycles. Its sophistication is particularly evident in the fourth year, when it seamlessly transitions from February 29 to March 1 while simultaneously tracking the moon phases. Complementing this is the chronograph function, which accurately measures elapsed time, displayed on the sub-dial of the main dial.

This rare and treasured timepiece is a centerpiece of the "The Eternity Collection," having been meticulously maintained for over twenty years, thereby preserving its invaluable historical legacy.
