Offering the perfect opportunity to acquire an exclusive example of Greubel Forsey’s contemporary independent haute horologerie, the present Balancier Convexe S2 Incline Blue was made in a limited edition of 88 pieces. It is a most impressive trophy for those who hold the endless pursuit of excellence in the highest regard.
Bringing together the very highest level of advanced horology with stunning aesthetics, the Balancier Convexe S2 Incline Blue is both sporting and at the same time boasting exceptional chronometry. The ingenious curved, ovoid-shaped case appears to be round and yet at the same time oval depending upon the angle it is viewed from. It is fitted with an oval arched sapphire crystal that follows the curvature of the case for an optimum view of the dial and balance. The main plate of the dial is partly angled at 30 degrees where the large 12.6 mm. diameter balance wheel is positioned at 7 o’clock. Greubel Forsey's in-house variable inertia balance wheel, first presented in 2016, has six gold inertial screws that have been inset within the wheel in order to reduce air friction. Next to the balance at 8 o’clock is the subsidiary dial for small seconds and at 2 o’clock is the 72-hour power reserve indicator. A double-suspended arched bridge holds the inclined gear train and curved hour and minute hands.
This exceptional limited edition time-only sports watch has a contemporary aesthetic that is pure Greubel Forsey in both its concept and execution, combining incomparable design with finishing of the highest level and state-of-the-art horology.
Greubel Forsey
Greubel Forsey is one of the greatest names in the exciting world of independent watch brands. Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey’s working relationship of over 20 years is founded on their shared technical creativity and quest for perfection. The two watchmakers are fabled for their exceptional and avant-garde horology, combining highly complicated mechanical functions with uncompromisingly provocative styling concepts.
Robert Greubel and Stephen Forsey have become legends in the world of modern independent watchmaking. Working together since 1992, when they were developing complicated movements for Renaud & Papi, Greubel and Forsey decided to branch out on their own in 1999, setting up as the independents, CompliTime Greubel, la Neuveville and Bureau d’Etude et Prototype, le Locle, respectively. From this moment forward, they are focused on designing a new generation of tourbillons specifically developed to improve the timekeeping of the mechanical watch.
