Lot Essay

Highly attractive, the dial consists out of several layers on different levels, with a grainy gold center, enclosed by a steel frame featuring a mirror polish, which is screwed to the dial. The white hour ring completes the dial setup, and features tradition Arabic numerals. The overall result is rather easy to read yet exotic at the same time.

The name ‘Octa’ was given as a prefix to all F.P. Journe’s automatic watches because in Latin it means ‘eight’ and the figure ‘8’ on its side signifies the concept of limitlessness or infinity. This model, as with all F.P. Journe timepieces, combines aesthetic beauty with high precision. A prize catch for both F.P. Journe collectors and connoisseurs of independent haute horology alike, the present Octa Automatique combines incredible good looks, technical virtuosity and great exclusivity.
