Lot Essay

Reference 3990 was in production between 1995 and 2005 and was replaced by reference 5971. Made in yellow, white, and pink gold as well as platinum, this watch represents the first time Patek Philippe made a complicated jewel-set watch in series. This watch, which is the gem-set version of reference 3970, is a great rarity, seldom appearing on the market due to its extremely limited production. Only available to Patek Philippe’s top clients, this diamond-set reference 3990P presents a significant opportunity for any discerning collector to acquire one of Patek Philippe’s most stunning timepieces.
