Standing prophet

The present drawing and the two following lots were removed from an album in 1988 and dispersed at auction. The album, containing a total of 62 drawings, had probably been compiled in Rome in the mid-18th Century by a collector with access to the contents of an artist’s studio. Many of the studies in the album were works by Giovanni Battista Beinaschi while the rest of the drawings, done by different hands, are mostly not identifiable.
