Sold with this lot is a miniature of Charlotte Wilhelmi and two minature portraits of her parents mounted as a broach, set with rose diamonds, and a letter giving details of provenance in a 19th century hand.

The portrait of Ernst Wilhelmi is by B Nathan, a miniature painter known in Leipzig around 1800. Charlotte Wilhelmi's father is said to have been physician to Tsar Alexander I
