Lot Essay

A similar figure of a lady with hood and flaring skirt is in the Collection of the Shaanxi Historical Museum, and illustrated in Treasures of Chan’an, Capital of the Silk Road, Hong Kong, 1993, p. 57, no. 4.

The result of The Chinese University of Hong Kong thermoluminescence test no. 01171 is consistent with the dating of this lot.
