An expert in the fields of Development Education and Education in Nations in Crisis, Seth Spaulding is a former Director of the UNESCO International Bureau of Education in Geneva, Switzerland (1983-86). In addition, he served as UNESCO Director of the School and Higher Education Department in Paris from 1968-73, and is the founder of the former International Development Education Program (IDEP) at the University of Pittsburgh, and helped to establish the University Center for International Studies (UCIS) there. Professor Spaulding has also worked as a comparative and private education consultant in Nepal, Mongolia, Bangladesh, and Indonesia among other countries.
