A SOFT-METAL-INLAID BRONZE CUP IN SHAPE OF A LOTUS
EDO PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY), SIGNED IZUMI MITSUMASA WITH CURSIVE MONOGRAM (KAO)
The cup modeled in the form of a curled lotus leaf and stem forming the handle, the exterior in bronze alloy patina, decorated with inlaid silver lotus blossom, inlaid gold lotus bud and stem, inlaid gold bronze lotus leaf and engraved crab wtih gold-inlaid eyes; the interior in silver with a gold-inlaid crab; the underside with a silver-inlaid center, with gold-inlaid signature plaque
