Xiong Bin (1894-1964) served as a lieutenant general in the Nationalist Army and chairman of Shaanxi Province. In 1945, he was appointed Mayor of Beiping before relocating to Taiwan. With broad artistic interests and a discerning eye for collecting, the general’s family has treasured the present Qi Baishi for generations.
