We are proud to present this first-of-its-kind at auction and only publicly known ruby and diamond-set pink gold Royal Oak Chronograph reference 26334OR. Made for Audemars Piguet’s highly prestigious Italian retailer Dobner of Gorizia, it is one of the major world-class masterworks of the Kronos: Titans of Time Collection. It is therefore extremely exciting and without precedent that Christie’s is able to offer this extraordinary lavishly jewelled Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph.
The sheer magnificence and presence of this Royal Oak chronograph cannot be underestimated, the beauty and rarity of perfectly matched rubies is widely appreciated, and for Audemars Piguet, naturally only perfection is acceptable. The bezel is set with shaped and carefully matched baguette-cut rubies and the hour markers of the dial are also set with matching baguette-cut rubies. Moreover, the dial, upper surface of the case, and bracelet are entirely pavé set with brilliant-cut diamonds to dazzling effect. This reference is one of the most elusive and exclusive of all AP’s gem-set Royal Oaks and to date, the present watch is the only example of its type known publicly. According to Audemars Piguet's Heritage & Museum department, the present watch was manufactured in 2017 and is set with 1196 diamonds, totaling approximately 8.05 carats and set with 55 rubies, totaling approximately 3.86 carats
