According to the Man Ray Committee, the inscription on the backing board accompanying the work is also in Man Ray’s hand. It is signed, dated and dedicated: 'Souvenir de Paris 1940 man Ray to Millie and Allie hoping we'll meet soon Feb 14 1951 Julie and man (Ray)'.
