Cutting-edge materials are used in the case's manufacturing, most notably Quartz TPT®, an incredibly light composite created by Richard Mille especially for watchmaking. TPT® (Thin Ply Technology) quartz is remarkably light and strong. The resultant material, which is incredibly resistant to shocks and deformation, is made from hundreds of ultra-thin layers of quartz fibers scattered with NTPT carbon and fused at 120°C.
