The Time for Speed collection pays tribute to the rich heritage of Tiffany & Co. in both Swiss watchmaking and the crafting of racing trophies. Drawing inspiration from 1950s race cars, the present clock is sculpted in aluminum and finished with a striking combination of black and Tiffany Blue automotive paint. Rubber tires with polished stainless steel spokes and rims further enhance the design and strengthen its automotive identity. A brushed stainless steel aperture on the left side of the vehicle shows the time, and the brand's emblem is monogrammed on the radiator-style grille. The escapement and balance wheel are visible through a helmet-shaped glass dome above the driver's seat, creating a dynamic mechanical focal point. The House's famous Fifth Avenue flagship, The Landmark Tiffany Flagship Store, is subtly honored by the number '57' on the bumper.
Powering the clock is a manual-winding mechanical movement developed by L’Épée 1839, renowned for its precision and craftsmanship. Long-lasting performance is ensured by the movement's remarkable eight-day power reserve. A creative take on conventional timekeeping, time is shown by revolving hour and minute discs placed on the side of the vehicle. The steering wheel is turned counterclockwise to set the time, and pulling the car backward on a level surface cleverly winds the movement, combining lighthearted interaction with serious horological engineering.
