Lot Essay

This elegant and enigmatic portrait, the attribution of which is yet to be established with certainty, shows affinities with the Lombard tradition of portraiture, particularly with artists like Enea Salmeggia, called il Talpino (c1565/70-1626), and Giovanni Paolo Lolmo (c.1550-1593).
