The "Chaîne d’ancre" is one of Hermès’ most iconic and instantly recognizable jewelry designs. Created in 1938 by Robert Dumas the motif was inspired by the robust silhouette of a ship’s anchor chain. Dumas translated that nautical form into a bracelet composed of smooth, interlocking oval links, a look that is both sporty and elegantly understated. Over time, the design evolved into a full suite of necklaces, rings, earrings, and bracelets, becoming a true Hermès classic.
