By family tradition, this ring has descended through several generations of women within a prominent Filipino family whose heritage traces to the López, Lacson, and Montelibano lineages of Iloilo and Bacolod, Negros Occidental, families long associated with the social, economic, and cultural history of the region. In the early 20th century, members of the family were highly educated and maintained strong cultural ties to Europe, traveling frequently and acquiring fine jewels of quality and taste. The ring is believed to have been given to the present owner’s mother by her grandmother and has since been carefully preserved as a cherished heirloom, reflecting a legacy of continuity, heritage, and enduring refinement.
