Distinguished by its vivid red graphics and Arabic numerals paired with elegant white gold Breguet hands, the present special-order and unique Cartier Cintrée presents a striking and highly unusual aesthetic for the Maison—yet one that proves exceptionally attractive in execution. Created in 2007, this timepiece is further defined by its oversized, elongated platinum case, gracefully curved to mold to the wrist, embodying the timeless elegance of the Cintrée design. The vibrant dial configuration marks a bold departure from Cartier’s more traditional palettes, demonstrating the creative freedom afforded through bespoke commissions.

By comparison, in the mid-2000s Cartier released a limited edition of 50 platinum Cintrée examples under reference 2843 for the Collection Privée Cartier Paris (CPCP), featuring standard black Arabic numerals and blued steel hands. The present watch, however, stands as a compelling and highly personal variation, elevating the design through its daring use of color and refined handset. A small number of similarly unique special orders from this era are known, each incorporating subtle distinctions—ranging from Eastern or Western Arabic numerals to variations in hand styles such as blued steel, polished white metal, Breguet, or sword hands—yet the present example distinguishes itself through its cohesive and vibrant aesthetic. Both rare and visually captivating, it is a superb illustration of Cartier’s ability to blend tradition with bold individuality at the highest level of watchmaking.

The Tank Cintrée
The Cartier Tank Cintrée, which translates to 'curved' in French, is regarded as the most elegant version of the Tank design. It was introduced in 1921, and the name comes from the long, slightly curved case that was created to fit the wrist perfectly. The Tank Cintrée is still included in Cartier's current collection, which is evidence of its enduring appeal. It has continuously been one of the most sought-after models by discerning collectors, despite being produced in extremely limited quantities.
