Lot Essay

Recently discovered and from the original owner, it is a great rarity that the present Certificate of Origin-confirmed Patek Philippe World Time reference 5130G-013 features a special request world time disk with the designation of 'Guatemala' in red lettering, replacing the standard 'Mexico' time zone. Very few examples are known of the reference 5130 with special request cities, making this timepiece a notable addition to any collection of modern Patek Philippe complications.

Reference 5130
Unveiled at Baselworld 2006, the Patek Philippe reference 5130 World Time replaced its predecessor, the reference 5110 and was improved with a larger and more contemporary 39.5 millimeter case, and a new radial guilloché center. Featuring 24 cities on the outer disk, the larger case and dial allows for easier legibility, making it an excellent companion for world travel.

Powering this timepiece is Patek Philippe’s inhouse caliber 240⁄228 which features a 22k gold micro-rotor, helping the watch remain slim and showcasing wonderful hand-finished Côtes de Genève and anglage polishing.
