Architettura della Basilica di S. Pietro in Vaticano Opera di Bramante Lazzari, Michel'Angelo Bonarota, Carlo Maderni, a Altri Famosi Architetti. Rome: Nella Stamperia della Reverenda Camera Apolostica, 1684.
Second edition, the first published with the text, of this historically important collection of illustrations of the building of Saint Peter’s in Rome, in fine dark impressions. They provide important documentation for the early Christian Basilica of Constantine and for the subsequent building on the same site, the present day Saint Peters. This series of engravings, commissioned by Giovanni Costaguti, were Ferabosco's most notable contribution to architectural history; they were first issued, probably as sheets, in 1620. These plates, based on his precise pen-and-wash drawings from the late 1610s, illustrate designs by renowned architects such as Donato Bramante, Michelangelo Buonarroti, and Carlo Maderno, capturing elevations, plans, and perspectives of the basilica's construction phases. Both Ferabosco and Giovanni Costaguti were commissioned byPope Paul V to create plans and elevations of both the old and new St. Peter's Basilicas. Ferabosco plates include views of the old basilica's facade and atrium, as well as comparative diagrams of historical and contemporary designs. This project aimed to catalog the basilica's evolution, blending archival research with visual representation to aid ongoing construction efforts. Cicognara 3690. Kissner Catalogue 139.
