A LATE VICTORIAN AND IVORY INLAID BOWFRONT DISPLAY CABINET

In the manner of Stephen Webb, decorated with arabesques with entwined acanthus scrolls with mythical beasts, urns and fruit sprays, cupids and figures, with a moulded cornice and enclosed by a glazed panel door with a bead-decorated edge between three-quarter column stiles and with similarly-decorated concave sides, on square tapered legs joined by a platform and terminating in moulded supports and pad feet

This cabinet is very similar to a group of pieces designed by J S Lock with inlay by Stephen Webb. He was an influential figure in the revival of the use of ivory inlay towards the end of the 19th century and was employed by Collinson & Lock until after their takeover by Gillows in 1897
