Johnny Marr used this 1960s Fender Concert amplifier in the studio with The Smiths. When Marr stepped into the role of frontman for the first time with The Healers, the Fender Concert was one of the main amps employed to record the band’s 2003 album Boomslang. When asked by Guitar Player which guitar and amp combination he had used to get the gorgeous clean tone on the album track ‘Something to Shout About’, Marr revealed: I used a ’63 Gibson ES-335, a Matchless DC-30, and a ‘60s Fender Concert with a tiny hint of vibrato on… I was really happy with the way it turned out. Marr was photographed perching next to this Fender Concert in his studio for a feature in the February 2009 issue of Guitarist magazine.
