Given to me by J Mascis after I played with him and Dinosaur Jr. in New York, in 2012.
JOHNNY MARR, MARR’S GUITARS, 2023
J Mascis gifted this guitar to Johnny Marr following his special guest appearance with Dinosaur Jr. at Terminal 5, New York City, on 1 December 2012, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their 1987 album You’re Living All Over Me. Some years later, Marr played this guitar when he joined longtime collaborator Hans Zimmer and his 36-piece orchestra, which included his son Nile Marr, on stage at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on 26 July 2017 to perform the numbers ‘Journey To The Line’ from The Thin Red Line and ‘My Enemy/Paranoia’ from The Amazing Spider-Man 2, as well as an epic Inception medley for the encore. Marr played a key role in recording Zimmer’s score for the 2010 Christopher Nolan film Inception and was credited as a co-writer on the score for 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2 as a member of The Magnificent Six.
