Lot Essay

There are three distinct characteristics on Qin-style jades of the late Spring and Autumn period: predominantly geometric shapes, incised angular decoration lines, and piercing, drilling, and cutting techniques.

Compare to a qin-style openwork jade ornament from Chang Wei-Hwa collection, sold at Christie’s Hong Kong, The Chang Wei-Hwa Collection of Archaic Jades Part III - Spring and Autumn & Warring States Periods, 3 December 2021, lot 2755.
