Dedicated to Zhongjian
NOTE:
The painting is dedicated to Xiang Dicong (1889-1969), courtesy name Zhongjian, a native of Shuangliu, Sichuan. Painted by Zhang Daqian for Xiang, the work was later inscribed by Wu Hufan at his request. Renowned as a poet from an early age, Xiang was also highly accomplished in the study and composition of poetry and was an influential figure in modern Chinese literary circle.
