According to present owner, the work was acquired directly from the artist.

The present works are from the family collection of Mr. Kwong Ching Yuen (1948-2020). Based in Hong Kong and engaged in trading business, Kwong travelled frequently to Beijing, where he became acquainted with a number of prominent artists. A passionate art enthusiast and devoted collector of Chinese painting and calligraphy, he developed friendships with many leading twentieth-century painters and calligraphers and assembled a notable collection over the years. According to his family, both works were acquired directly from the artists. Further works from the collection will be presented in upcoming Chinese Paintings online sales.
