Lot Essay

The distinctive field design of this central Anatolian runner consists of narrow, arrowhead gables in a vertical arrangement, their serrated profiles decorated with trefoil motifs. The impressive array of vibrant colours, helps accentuate the ascending design which is woven with a particularly soft and lustrous wool. The deep corrosion in the dark chocolate-brown border throws the stellar medallions into greater relief and punctuates the field design creating natural breaks within the pattern.
