Introduced in 1993, the Royal Oak Offshore represented a bold reinterpretation of the original Royal Oak, translating its unmistakable design into a larger and more robust sports watch. Its substantial proportions and assertive aesthetic quickly established the Offshore as an important collection in its own right. The present timepiece offers a notably different interpretation of this concept. As a Lady Royal Oak Offshore, it retains the characteristic architecture of the collection within a refined 27 mm. white gold case, complemented by a sapphire cabochon-set crown.
The present reference 67151BC is an exceptionally rare diamond-set Lady Royal Oak Offshore, specially commissioned for the Alinghi Racing Team. According to Audemars Piguet, only two examples were ever produced in white gold, placing the present watch among the manufacture’s most exclusive special-order creations.
Its connection to Alinghi is prominently expressed on the mother-of-pearl dial, where the team’s distinctive logo is depicted in rubies, with the date indication ingeniously integrated within the design.
