In 2019, A. Lange & Söhne celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Lange 1 with a remarkable series of ten limited editions based on different members of its most emblematic watch family. Unveiled successively throughout the anniversary year, the collection culminated with the Lange 1 Tourbillon '25th Anniversary', the present model, produced in an exceptionally small edition of only 25 pieces in white gold.
The 38.5 mm white gold case frames a beautifully balanced argenté-coloured solid silver dial, accented by deep blue inscriptions and blued steel hands. At 12 o'clock, the one-minute tourbillon is prominently displayed through a generous aperture and incorporates Lange's patented stop-seconds mechanism, allowing the balance within the rotating tourbillon cage to be stopped instantaneously for precise time setting. The mechanism is suspended between two diamond endstones, while the manufacture's signature outsize date provides the unmistakable visual identity of the Lange 1.
The anniversary theme continues on the reverse. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, the tourbillon bridge and intermediate-wheel cock are elaborately hand-engraved, with their recessed decoration filled in blue to echo the dial. The intermediate-wheel cock is further adorned with the recurring signature of the anniversary collection: a relief engraving of the Lange outsize date displaying '25'.
Lange 1 '25th Anniversary' Editions
All ten anniversary models share a distinctive aesthetic combining a white gold case, argenté-coloured dial with deep blue details and blue date numerals. The series comprises:
- Lange 1
- Grand Lange 1 Moon Phase
- Little Lange 1
- Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar
- Lange 1 Time Zone
- Lange 1 Moon Phase
- Grand Lange 1
- Lange 1 Daymatic
