A Doherty racket manufactured by Slazenger of London, ca. 1903, with ash frame, double-centre main strings, reinforced shoulders, walnut convex wedge and finely-scored octagonal handle. Together with an Exceller racket manufactured by Crawfords for John Wisden of London, ca. 1921, with ash frame, double-centre main strings, two-tone stringing, spliced walnut wedge, reinforced shoulders, barrel and fantail handle with rounded butt and cord grip (several strings defective, lacking most of cord grip).
