Rectangular, gold-lined, decorated with scale-shaped panels of carved mother-of-pearl and shells set en cloisonnè within chased borders, arranged on the cover and underside as swirling flutes with stylised gold flower spray in centre, and on the sides as scalework, the gold rim mounts chased with undulating reeding, marked in cover and base with maker only; on inside of the rim with charge, date-letter (B) and maker; on cover's rim with decharge
